If you were already impressed by the sound of a 5500 mile walk around the coast of Britain, then you would have ended up being totally in awe of the couple who gave the talk last night at Millhouse Village Hall.  

Welcome and introductions were made by our Vice Chair Simon Hewitt.  Jill and Cliff Gosden gave us a hugely enjoyable account of their stages around the coast.  At times they risked life and limb, got escorted away from nuclear sites, had to make detours which sometimes doubled their distances, sprained ankles and tore muscles.  But nothing stopped them from finishing their amazing adventure.  Their talk included fabulous photographs and some sights we will never see for real as they could only be seen from the paths they took.  Their descriptions of the scenery, the flora and fauna and birdlife they encountered was superb.  If they do another presentation in the future and you ever get the chance to hear the talk they gave, you should not miss it.  There were many questions which followed the talk and a vote of thanks was given by Philippa Groves. 

The evening was a total success, the hall was full to capacity and a delicious pie and pea supper provided by Margaret Brough and Celia Stobart was enjoyed by all.  Martin Nicholson manned the drinks table and Celia and Michelle Boundy sold raffle tickets. 

Another amazing amount of £678.65 was raised for the Hesket Newmarket Community Shop Fund for which we are all very grateful.
