We hardly had time to catch our breath after Potato Day before we were preparing for the film night the following Friday!  Martin N and Pat Shaw set up the hall earlier in the day and Greg Hackett assisted by Roger Gook had everything prepared for a prompt start at 7.30pm.  The hall filled very quickly with just over 80 people and Celia Stobart along with Annette Hewitt and Carol Secombe set up the tea trolly in preparation for the refreshments at half time.

Several fascinating short films were shown and Greg introduced them, the scenery was breathtaking and the films very different from the depths of canyons in a kayak to the tops of mountains.  I think the majority of us were happy to watch with no intention of ever partaking in the sports displayed especially jumping off a mountain in what looked like a bat suit!!  No doubt though it will have inspired the more adventurous of us to get out and have a go, maybe even a few more folk taking a dip in a local lake but as ever these things should not be done without training and supervision so, please take the ‘don’t try this at home’ approach until you are confident!!

The total amount raised from the Film Night was an amazing £926.50!
