From the Lake District to the Himalaya an illustrated talk by Dr Mike Townend
Tue 22 Oct | 7pm | at The Old Crown | £25 includes home cooked traditional Nepalese meal | All proceeds to Hesket Newmarket Community Shop
Join Dr Mike Townend as he recounts his travels, from a boyhood in Yorkshire to General Practice in Cumbria, from fell walking to climbing, culminating in Himalayan expeditions and leading trekking and adventure holidays.

Car treasure hunt
Sunday 22 September | Leaving 10am to 12 noon from Caldbeck Village Car Park | All proceeds to Hesket Newmarket Community Shop
Caldbeck Young Farmers Club have organised an exciting car treasure hunt for Sunday 22 September starting in Caldbeck Village Car Park.
First car: 10am Last car: 12pm
£5 per person, £3 for under 10s CASH ONLY!
The event includes tea and cakes at Caldbeck Cricket Club afterwards, where there will also be a raffle!
